Behavioral Personality and Perception Filter Definitions
multiple filters picture
There are a number of "Personality Filters." For the purposes of this section, a Personality Filter is an aspect or trait or feature in the way that we are made that influences how we interpret or perceive the world, how we communicate or interact with it, and how we behave or act within it generally.

These Filters, like many of the other features that combine to make up an individual, ultimately have a biological foundation.

Of course, there are additional factors that influence one's experience of reality and the way we respond. We are adaptive organisms, as all organisms that are not extinct are. We adapt to the environment we interact with. And thus, the environment is a participating factor in how our filters manifest themselves.

The Nature / Nurture debate is an old one. Click here.

Some elaboration on the term "Filters" is warranted. While ConserveLiberty uses the term "Filters" generally as described above, there are various degrees of complexity that ultimately are responsible for these Filters to express their phenotypes (observed traits) in the way that they do.

For that reason, ConserveLiberty will use the terms Filter, Ensemble, or Tapestry to describe the general "Filter" being described.

Tapestry - ensemble of Ensembles
The intended implication is that a single molecule may itself either be a Filter or one of a collection of components making up a Filter that explains the manifestation of a specific trait.

Other Filters may actually be Ensembles, made up of a collection of single Filters. These Ensembles are then responsible for the mechanism of action (MOA) that explains the manifestation of another specific trait.

Other Filters may actually be ensembles of Ensembles, which we refer to as Tapestries. These Tapestries (e.g. Ensembles "woven together") are then responsible for the MOA that explains the manifestation of a more complex trait.

In general, any of the Filters, Ensembles, or Tapestries may be referred to simply as a Filter as an abbreviated nomenclature for the trait being described.

In fact, for many of the Filters ConserveLiberty discusses, the molecular, physiological, and environmental structural components may not be understood completely. Thus, the designation of a Filter as either a Filter, Ensemble, or Tapestry may often be a "best guess" or a "strong opinion" rather than a factual indication of the relationship among all its known components (if all are known.)

Stay skeptical. Think critically.

These filters have their own unique settings per individual, they are multigenic in nature, and there are many of them.
