Author's Note
The impact of the Attachment Formation Personality Spectrum Ensemble, depending on how effective its "setting" is, will be seen as enabling a spectrum of perspectives leading to ... approval, affinity, similarity. A bonding based on a sense of togetherness. Alignment as allies. A willingness to become devoted to "the other." It is itself made up of an ensemble of influential components and traits.
This chapter was first initiated on 27 Dec 2015 and released on 02 Jun 2016. It was only the second release to the
ConserveLiberty
resource after
"The Incident."
Those who know me would probably agree that while I had recovered quite well, I probably still had further to go. And, of course, either I didn't know it or wasn't aware of it.
I recently reviewed v. #1 and improved it (I say) a few times for the
ConserveLiberty
audience.
You are currently reviewing: Version #2.1.

Preface
We start each Personality Spectrum Filter, Ensemble, or Tapestry Chapter by reminding the reader what
ConserveLiberty
means by a
Personality Filter. ← Click there.
Now that the declaration that
"our personality filters have an organic, genetic basis"
is out of the way ... it is also important to keep in mind that since authors are endowed with their own foundational filters, these posts are always written
from an unavoidable perspective and expression personality bias.
Finally, we continue to remind that ...
The biological and genetic basis underlying human personality is expected to be
quite complex,
with many component parts. By no means is it implied or should it be construed that the Attachment Formation Personality Spectrum Ensemble is the result of a single gene. Rather, an
ensemble of biological parts
are necessary to be expressed and put together just right so that a person's individual place on the Attachment Ensemble is determined.
In fact, with regard to the Attachment Ensemble it is probably a bit more clarifying to reiterate the statements above in a more declarative manner:
There is no single gene (whose expression or structure is variable and can be altered,) or for that matter a single event, that is causative of "forming attachments". Either by genetic variation, environmental influence, or random fluctuation resulting in a recognizable clinical impact. And thus, more generally, there is no single gene or environmental influence that results in our ability or inability to correctly ... approve of, align with, or yearn to preserve ... whatever.
Numerous genes are involved, functioning together as a tapestry of ensembles of filters, which together under the right circumstances result in our ability to be attach to others or other things, manage how strongly and to whom (or what) we are attached to, and manage the timing and intensity of how we respond to the activities that unfold. We refer to all these together as the Attachment Formation Personality Spectrum Ensemble.
Of course, since neither our filters nor the information that we have currently is perfect or complete, all of us, in one way or another, are different. And we all have room for improvement. These differences are not entirely within our intentional control. Others are. Who knows which is which? Because issues surrounding Attachment have important relevance to devotion to team, friendship, and the expression of libido, evolution has most likely selected for behaviors and perspectives that favor attachments that result in advantaged outcomes.
Which, of course, may have little correlation with the outcomes of actual attachments formed, whether validatable or not.
