Happiness Originates Within
Offered by David Apollo

I ran across a wonderfully wise (meaning - True) quote recently, which I reproduce here:
Very little is needed to make a happy life;
it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.
    - Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 AD)

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus was Emperor of Rome from 161 to 180. He was the last of the so-called Five Good Emperors and a practitioner of Stoicism. His untitled writing, commonly known as Meditations, is a significant source of the modern understanding of ancient Stoic philosophy. It is considered by many to be one of the greatest works of philosophy.

Meditations is a monument to a philosophy of service and duty. It describes how to find and preserve a state of psychological stability and composure undisturbed by experience of emotion, pain, or other conflict generated issues by following nature as a source of guidance and inspiration.
