Note 1 to Stella Maronne

Hey Stella,
[ children down hill having fun pic ]
Wow! Your suggestion that I try working out The Humor Filter almost looked like it was going to be a mental slapstick comedy. Turns out it's one of those things almost no one seriously tries to work out. Some have asserted that humor cannot or should not be explained at all!

I mean ... can anyone really define the ingredients that generate "sense of humor" at all?

But you threw down the challenge, and the more I contemplated it, the more intriguing it got. I started out believing I was going to enjoy developing it, but wasn't sure how I'd ever work through something like that analytically (which is where I groove from.)

Then, the puzzle of that became an enigma that I wasn't sure there was a solution for, which is all it took for me to begin seriously devoting brainstorming time towards figuring out a solution! Curiosity got me!

Now I'm over some sort of hump but I haven't yet found the muse with the writing style I want for this unique chapter. I'm still discovering and creating "content", but it needs to be reworked, prioritized, pruned. For this one, attitude matters.

Here's where I've gotten so far.

The question will be, "Can I actually deliver on the tone?!"

Who knows? Yet, I can't get to where I need to be with this chapter unless I continue moving forward. I think I know where I want to go, just not sure how the route to posting will unfold.

Any thoughts come to mind related ultimately to what humor actually is, why it is, how it is, and if it has any selective advantage as an instinct? Is it broader than the human species, running throughout much of life on this planet? Does all of That Which Is have an ironic component? Or do some or most of us sentient beings just not "get it"?

Amused,

David
