A precondition of Attachment Formation. Empathy is misdirected when we imagine how we would feel if we were in "their" shoes. True empathy imagines how we would feel if we were "them" in their shoes.

actually "feel?" Erica? Do we feel "attachment" to Sophia, or attachment to "ourselves" as if we were Sophia feeling as we might? What of Erica?
